Every year the Martin Luther King Jr (MLK) Seattle Celebration Committee organizes a large scale celebration in the only geographic jurisdiction named in Dr. King's honor. The 35th Annual MLK Seattle Celebration, includes workshops, a rally, a march, and career fair.

We ask that volunteers - or the group leader if you are signing up a group - contact event organizers directly to sign-up for this volunteer role and to get information about training.  Please contact Bob Barnes,  or KL Shannon,

We need volunteers to serve as peacekeepers to guide and manage crowds at the rally at Garfield High School, the march to the federal building downtown for a brief program, and to direct marchers to buses that will return to Garfield. At that time a late lunch will be served to all interested volunteers and marchers.

Volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend a training on Saturday, January 14 (specifics on time and location will be provided by event organizers listed above) on communications protocols, what the day looks like, and other important details.
