WheelLab

WheelLab started in 2015 to fill a need in the community, by offering hands on bike programs and mechanical classes to support youth. We wanted it to be accessible across King County, so we made it a mobile shop/classroom. WheelLab aims to inspire youth to think creatively and develop skills utilizing a hands on experience in a positive, safe, accessible environment, that will increase their productivity in their community as safe conscientious riders.

WheelLab provides programming for youth across the Eastside of King County at three levels: Fix a bike (providing bike maintenance support for the community through classes and bike drives), Build a bike (youth learn how to rebuild a donated bike and keep it at the end), Create a bike (youth design their own bike on the computer and then build their design with a modular bike kit.
