Who We Are
Alpha Supported Living Services is a non-profit agency providing supported living, community inclusion and representative payee services for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in King, Snohomish and Spokane counties. Alpha was established in 1974 by parents of adults with disabilities looking for an alternative to state institutionalization for their children. Alpha is known for its high quality and compassionate care. We serve individuals with developmental disabilities by providing residential and community services that maximize each person's quality of life. The essence of Alpha's work is to support our clients in reaching their full potential as active members of their supported living family and of their community.
What We Do
Alpha currently serves 216 clients in supported living and group home settings in approximately 90 homes located in North Seattle, Shoreline, Lynnwood, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, Everett, Bothell, Redmond, Kirkland, Bellevue, Issaquah, Woodinville and Spokane. Since the beginning, Alpha’s primary mission is inclusion of our clients in the community. The supported living model gives clients power and choice over their own lives. Our clients pay for their own rent and other living expenses on an average annual income of $11,627. Alpha provides vital staff support that allows clients to thrive in a supported living model where 2-4 housemates live in a family-like environment, and some people live singly for behavioral issues, within community neighborhoods. Clients receive behavioral support, community integration support, social and mental health support, and health services including planning and support for proper nutrition and regular exercise. Our staff provides comprehensive health services with over 2,000 health appointments annually and 98% of our clients receiving daily medications. Approximately 50% of clients have an accompanying mental health diagnosis and 34% have a diagnosis of Autism. Clients are supported to be as independent as possible with their finances and receive assistance from financial services staff. Over 20% of Alpha’s clients are actively employed in a wide range of industries, and even more volunteer for different community organizations. All services provided are guided by person-centered goal setting involving the client, their guardian, family, and staff.
