HISTORY ICHS first started in the 1970s as a tiny store front clinic with roots in the Asian American community, what was then known as Chinatown. ICHS's early founders and employees started with a simple vision of meeting the health needs of elderly Chinese and Filipino-speaking members of our community. Today, ICHS provides a full spectrum of high quality and affordable health services to nearly 32,000 patients, speaking more than 50 languages at 11 clinic locations. While much has changed in the more than four decades since ICHS opened its doors, its mission remains the same: to provide culturally- and linguistically-appropriate health and wellness services to anyone in need, and to promote health equity for all.
