Who We Are
Perinatal Support Washington (PS-WA) is a statewide non-profit committed to shining a light on perinatal mental health to support all families and communities. We believe all parents should receive appropriate, timely, and culturally relevant care from conception to baby's first birthday.
What We Do
For 31 years we’ve connected parents with the appropriate resources to safeguard their mental health and their growing families. We connect parents experiencing anxiety and depression with others who’ve been through it, educate providers to better identify and treat affected families, provide access to a network of trained clinicians, and raise awareness of this public health issue. Headquartered in King County, we provide the following services throughout Washington State: Our Warm Line is a free telephone support service staffed by experienced professionals and trained volunteer parents who have experienced perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) themselves and recovered. Our support groups provide non-judgmental support with a keen understanding of the wide spectrum of perinatal adjustment. Groups are located throughout Washington and most are free or pay what you can. We offer a variety of trainings for mental health providers working with perinatal families to encourage a basic understanding of PMADs, including screening. Through our provider directory and Warm Line, we provide referrals to psychotherapists, medication management professionals, and other professionals with a special interest in treating women experiencing PMADs. We run the Washington State chapter of Postpartum Support International and participate in advocacy efforts at the state and national level.
