UW Climate Ready Plants

We are a group of graduate students and researchers at the University of Washington Botanic Gardens. The UW Climate Ready Plants project runs irrigation deficit trials on horticulture plants in order to access their performance, and ideally, cut down on excess urban water use and identify drought resistant plants in the face of climate change.

Climate Ready Landscape Plants are part of a multi-institutional project with the goal to create a non-biased plant trials network that evaluated landscape plant performance under different irrigation regimes and promote the production and utilization of low water-use plants to the horticultural industry and the public. Volunteer opportunities include helping with plot establishment and maintenance, mainly weeding, planting and mulching.
