Who We Are

Based in Seattle, Refugees Northwest Foster Care provides long-term foster care to unaccompanied refugee and immigrant youth who have fled war, persecution, abuse, and abandonment in their native land. Since 1980, the Refugees Northwest Foster Care has partnered with dedicated foster parents in King and Snohomish County to improve the lives of refugee and now also immigrant youth from Africa, Asia, Mexico, and Central America.

What We Do

Refugees Northwest Foster Care offers safe haven to refugee and immigrant youth - primarily teenagers, in King and Snohomish counties. The program is always in need of culturally sensitive individuals and couples interested in fostering foreign-born youth without an adult caregiver. Our foster parents are drawn to diverse cultures, enjoy nurturing youth, and benefit from the support of our bilingual social workers, monthly trainings and other support services. A monthly stipend covers the expenses of the youth. We also welcome the support of long-term volunteer mentors/tutors.
