Who We Are
St. James Cathedral Immigrant Assistance promotes an inclusive society and advances justice for refugees and immigrants through education, advocacy, and by helping the most isolated refugees and immigrants to learn English, become citizens and connect to community resources. St. James Cathedral Immigrant Assistance was founded in 1972, and has been providing ESL tutoring ever since then. Over the years, in response to community needs, we have offered a variety of program options. For example, at various times, we have offered Talk Time Conversation Groups, Enhanced ESL for Students with Visual Limitations, Citizenship Classes, Wait List Class, Public Speaking, Women's Discussion Group, and Money Management. Our current programming includes ESL tutoring, Citizenship Tutoring, Naturalization and DACA Assistance, and Refugee Welcome. We currently serve over 400 clients per year.
