Mission: Seattle Musical Theatre exists to engage and entertain our community by producing new and traditional musicals; this theater nurtures local talent by providing training and artistic development opportunities for children, youth and adults from all walks of life. 

Seattle Musical Theatre (SMT) is currently in its 41st season. SMT fills a unique niche in the Puget Sound Region as a mid-level semi-professional company providing 5 productions annually of classical and contemporary musical theatre with strong artistic value at an affordable price. We serve 6,000 to 10,000 audience members each season. SMT provides an entry and professional level of experience to over 400 actors, directors, designers, musicians and production team members. Our talent is typically younger actors and other artists in pursuit of a theatrical career, but we also provide an excellent outlet for talented performer.  Many of our performers move to the regional/union houses around town after being seen in our theatre, and some have gone on to national careers and Broadway.
