Who We Are

WATER TENDERS is a grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of our aquatic resources with a special focus on the Bear Creek Basin.

What We Do

We are a grassroots, all-volunteer group of citizens who created a non-profit organization to insure that the Bear Creek basin remains intact and healthy. Through educational outreach programs, we try to instill good stewardship ideals. Some of our educational efforts include: annual autumn docent programs during the salmon migration, educational kiosk installations, newsletters and community meetings. With grant money we have funded scientific studies within the basin, printed salmon and mussel ID cards for free distribution and co-sponsored scientific symposiums. We partner with the local Adopt-a-Park program to maintain six open space reserves for the county and coordinate reforestation and site enhancement projects.
