Who We Are

The Sound Salmon Solutions mission is to ensure the future of healthy salmon runs in the Stillaguamish and Snohomish River basins and Island County watersheds. To achieve our mission, we pursue the following goals: * To support and enhance natural salmon populations through habitat restoration * To empower communities to be stewards of their watersheds by providing education and volunteer opportunities * To partner with other groups and agencies to maximize salmon recovery * To advocate for salmon recovery in our region Since its beginning in 1990, SSS has directed its resources and efforts to the challenge of developing community partnerships and strategies to improve and restore the recreational and commercial fisheries of the Pacific Northwest. We frequently collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies, businesses, community organizations, and individuals to achieve our goals. We regard local, hands-on community involvement as essential to our success.

What We Do

We are dedicated to the restoration of viable salmonid populations and their habitat in the Stillaguamish and Snohomish River basins and Island County Watersheds, a combined land area of more than 2,400 square miles. We also work on behalf of the marine waters of Port Susan, Port Gardner Bay, Possession Sound, and Saratoga Passage south of Elger Bay.
