Who We Are
Wallingford Community Senior Center welcomes, connects and supports older adults in our community. By creating an inclusive, vibrant, age-friendly organization, we provide opportunities for social connection & support, social services & resources, health promotion, learning, and community involvement. In 1979, the Wallingford Community Senior Center was one of the first agencies to open in the Good Shepherd Center and operated under the umbrella of Senior Services of King County until it achieved independent status in 1996. The WCSC is governed by a Board of Directors. WCSC has a small staff team, and relies greatly on volunteers in a variety of roles.
What We Do
With origins as a neighborhood senior center, WCSC remains steadfastly committed to seniors and healthy aging, serving north & northeast Seattle. With changing demographics and attitudes about aging, we are broadening our reach to create a vibrant place for growing up and growing older. We help people connect, engage, and expand their horizons- with an emphasis on a supportive environment for moving through life's transitions. We are an inclusive organization that is equally welcoming - whether a person is vulnerable or isolated, has special needs, or is active & well.
