Who We Are

Our mission is to teach children with hearing loss to communicate and learn though listening and spoken language. Our vision is that no child is limited by hearing loss. We value a family centered approach, a collaborative environment, a knowledgeable team, an equitable and inclusive environment, and a visionary spirit.

What We Do

Established in 1996, Listen and Talk has grown from providing therapy services to 13 children with 4 staff members to a state-wide organization directly serving hundreds of families and providing professional support and mentoring to individuals and school teams across the state.

In our Birth to Three, Blended Classrooms, and Listening and Spoken Language programs, children with all degrees of hearing loss learn to listen and talk, allowing them to be independent and involved within their families, among friends, and in their communities. We support families and school teams across the state with consultation and outreach services in partnership with the Center for Childhood Deafness and Hearing Loss (CDHL). Additional consultation services and supports are also available directly through Listen and Talk.

The children of Listen and Talk achieve remarkable success thanks to the combination of proven auditory-verbal educational methods and the use of advanced hearing technology such as digital hearing aids, cochlear implants, personal FM systems, and soundfield amplification systems for classrooms.

With the aid of technology, committed families, and specialized programs provided by Listen and Talk professionals, almost all children with hearing loss can learn to listen and use spoken language, allowing them to fully participate in a hearing world.
