Who We Are
XBOT Robotics is a dedicated group of professional engineers and SE Seattle community members bringing STEM education to the students of SE Seattle. Our robotics competition teams and hands-on projects offer students the opportunity to learn leadership, teamwork, designing/building and programming of competition robots, and other technology-rich experiences. Our volunteers work over 100+ hours/year with our students on year-round STEM programs.
What We Do
In 2001, a band of robot enthusiasts decided to bring the FIRST Robotics program to an inner city, under-served high school – Franklin HS Seattle, WA. These individuals wanted to make a difference to students who do not have experience and/or opportunity with STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) projects. FHS is a uniquely diverse school with
- 95% students of color
- 68% free/reduced lunch students.
XBOT ROBOTICS was established (2009) to provide after school/summer/Saturday workshops and FIRST robotics team support offered to elementary, middle & high school students of SE Seattle. XBOT ROBOTICS is dedicated to providing educational opportunities in STEM fields while:
- Reinforcing the self-confidence of our students
- Enhancing students’ problem solving skills through hands-on learning approach
- Increase awareness of the student to pursue a career in STEM disciplines.
