Gibby Home Fire Prevention

  • Public Safety & Crisis Response

Who We Are

We are a family who lost our brother and son to a house fire. Greg Gibson "GIbby" and his dog Nino died in a house fire on January 8, 2016, At least 7 people EVERY day lose their life in the US as a result of home fires- more than any other natural disaster. We lost a loved one and don't want anyone else to lose theirs. To date we have worked to install over 350 smoke alarms into residences of people who did not have working smoke alarms.

What We Do

  • Install free smoke alarms to those in need.
  • Spread awareness about home fire prevention on social media and online.
  • Speak to the media about our story.
  • Lead educational events and work with fire departments and disaster relief agencies.
  • Put a superhero face to the cause Work with legislature to change laws about smoke alarms.
