Attain Housing

Our mission is bringing our community together to partner with homeless families, by providing affordable housing and empowering them with practical case management and hope. Our community faces a huge challenge. Organized by the King County Coalition to End Homelessness, the annual “One Night Count” took place on January 29, 2016. Volunteers counted 4,505 unsheltered people in King County, an increase of 19% over 2015. Over 25,000 people experience homelessness in King County each year. The number one cause? Lack of affordable housing — 45% of renter households in King County pay more than 30% of their income for rent. Less than 5% of apartments in King County are affordable to households earning less than 30% of median income. Homeless children are our most vulnerable community members and are at higher risk of illness and delayed development.

Attain Housing helps homeless and at-risk families with children in King County to become stable and self-sufficient and prevents them from becoming homeless. First, Attain Housing stabilizes families in 32 Attain Housing apartments and in units owned by others. Then, Attain Housing assists the families with services, including case management, which helps them make lasting life changes, leading to permanent housing. Our eviction prevention program keeps families facing eviction with financial assistance to stay in their homes.
