Who We Are

Since 1942, Boyer has been the premier provider of comprehensive early intervention services in the greater Seattle area for children birth to teen (focusing primarily on children ages birth to three), serving over 900 children and their families annually. Under the medical direction of a developmental pediatrician, Boyer provides therapy, medical consultation, early childhood education and family support services. Boyer's experienced professionals serve children with diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, cleft palate, spinal muscular atrophy, vision impairment, hearing loss, chromosomal anomalies and speech/language delays. Boyer is also committed to ensuring that all children have access to our high-quality services, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. All children in need of early intervention services will receive equitable access to them, inclusive of cultural diversity and linguistic differences, and regardless of their family's financial resources or geographic limitations.

This year marks an incredible milestone in Boyer Children's Clinic's long history: our 75th anniversary of serving the community. As a nonprofit, we are grateful to the many generous supporters - like you - whose investments have powered our work over the decades. Your partnership allows us to continue providing the expert, compassionate care that Boyer is known for.

“At Boyer, the focus is always on celebrating ability. Boyer not only taught me how to advocate for my son, but how to parent him in a better way; how to let go of all the expectations and appreciate his strengths.” - Boyer parent

What We Do

Boyer is the largest Early Intervention provider in Seattle, and our service delivery is grounded in evidence-based programs that increases parent, caregiver and childcare provider understanding of early childhood development to help each child and family reach their fullest potential. Our services are offered through a multi-disciplinary team including a developmental pediatrician (whose position is designated as a "Center of Excellence," allowing them the unique ability to screen for autism expeditiously), nurses, speech-language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, educators, family resources coordinators and social workers. Each care plan is created to meet the individual needs of each child, and tailored to support the family and caregivers. Our programs are inclusive by design; children with developmental delays receive services alongside their typically developing peers. Services are provided in the child's home, at their childcare provider, and/or at Boyer Children's Clinic. We have two locations: our original site in the Montlake neighborhood, and a new expansion site in Magnuson Park. In addition to our high-quality therapies, family support programs, and educational offerings, Boyer now offers CHERISH services, a program that supports foster parents and the children placed in their care.
