Abundance of Hope Center is led by lived experience.
Founded and led by a resilient family of African American women, our executive team has not only overcome homelessness but has navigated and survived the deep, systemic barriers that often lead to it, racism, poverty, gender-based violence, and generational trauma.
Our founder established Abundance of Hope Center as a labor of love after witnessing countless young people, especially youth of color and LGBTQIA youth, slip through the cracks during her 20+ years of working with vulnerable families. She knew firsthand what was missing, and she built this organization to fill that void.
Our leadership team reflects the community we serve. Many of our staff have personally faced and risen above the same challenges confronting our most at-risk youth. This lived experience fuels our unwavering commitment to justice, equity, and culturally responsive support. At AofH, we don’t approach our work from the outside looking in, we walk alongside our youth, because we’ve been where they are.
