Summer Search Seattle

Summer Search has a national presence, working with young people, most of whom will be the first in their families to attend college, in five regions across the country—the Bay Area, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Seattle. Since our inception, we’ve helped 6,200 students soar.

We serve students who have the desire and potential to graduate college, but who may not be able to due to under-resourced environments and oppressive systems that promote negative attitudes and beliefs about themselves and their belonging in an academic environment. Through a combination of mentoring, experiential opportunities, college advising, and support, Summer Search students strengthen the skills they need to thrive in school and in life. It’s a long-term investment. And it works. With the help of local high schools, community-based organizations, families, and our summer program partners, our comprehensive program spans a crucial seven-to-nine-year period, giving high school students what they need to strengthen the personal and practical skills to become college-educated leaders who give back to their families and communities.
