RIGHT NOW NEEDS FUND: The Right Now Needs Fund provides immediate support to address the unmet basic needs of any Seattle Public School student and their family. The Fund can be used to address basic needs including food, shelter, clothing and medical care. All 102 SPS schools have a Right Now Needs Fund, and this fund is absolutely still available during school closure. To utilize the fund, please reach out directly to your school principal or staff. For more information on the fund, go to the AFE Right Now Needs Fund webpage here.
SEATTLE TEACHER RESIDENCY: Developed in 2012 in partnership with Seattle Public Schools, the University of Washington and Seattle Education Association, the Seattle Teacher Residency successfully applies the medical residency model to teacher preparation. By blending classroom apprenticeship with aligned graduate-level course work and an intensive resident/mentor partnership, residencies aim to accelerate student achievement through the training, support and retention of excellent teachers.
SCHOOL ACCOUNT SERVICES: The Alliance offers robust fiscal sponsorship services that enable individual schools and education–related organizations to expand their base of charitable support. We provide gift-management and accounting services, allowing your school staff and volunteers more time for school programs and fundraising. This service is currently provided at no cost to you – 100% of gifts designated to your school are directed to your account. In 2015, the Alliance managed over $2.6M in school account fiscal sponsorships. We currently serve approximately 200 groups, including PTSA’s, booster clubs, alumni groups, parent groups and others. These groups raise funds for needed classroom supplies, tutoring and programs as well as teacher, counselor and staff time not covered by existing school budgets.
