Who We Are
Northwest Seaport (www.nwseaport.org) preserves and interprets the Pacific Northwest’s maritime heritage and provides maritime workforce development programs to help young people start maritime careers, both ashore and at sea.
What We Do
We provide maritime education and workforce development programs in conjunction with the restoration of our historic vessels, including the 1889 tug Arthur Foss and 1904 Lightship 83, which are both registered as National Historic Landmarks as well as the 1911 halibut schooner Tordenskjold. Our educational programs range from Tugboat Story Time to Boatwright-in-Residence. We also host tugboat overnights, open boat days, the annual Classic Workboat Show, and numerous fundraising events on our ships.
