DOVE is a catalyst for social change fostering zero tolerance for interpersonal violence. We do this by providing individualized support to empower survivors and through cultivating focused prevention education that inspires community action.
In the four years since DOVE was incorporated, it has become one of the most trusted non-profit on the island, impacting 1 in 7 islanders directly and 1 in 8 islanders indirectly. Our client numbers have increased over 1000% during that time; the majority of folks came to us as a direct referral from other islanders. DOVE is also the only domestic violence agency on Vashon Island. DOVE also develops, implements, and evaluates violence prevention tools that can be used in both middle and high schools.
