We believe that every human being has a right to health and health care. Our mission is to promote policies and support programs that strengthen government primary health care and foster social, economic, and health equity for all. Our vision is a just world that promotes health and well-being, including universal access to quality health care.

For more than 30 years, Health Alliance International (HAI) has worked to build the capacity of Ministries of Health to lead their own, effective public sector health systems. HAI works side-by-side with Ministry of Health staff in the countries where we work to design, implement, and evaluate responsive health programs that integrate into the existing local health system.

HAI's work on the ground focuses on five key areas for health system strengthening:

1) Community-to-Clinic Linkages to improve access
2) Skills-building for Health Providers to build competency
3) Care Integration to promote efficiency
4) Data Systems Improvement to ensure responsiveness
5) Local Research Capacity Building to enable lasting change
