Volunteer: Horse Rescue - Become a Barn Chore Volunteer at Save a Forgotten Equine (SAFE)

Safe Harbor Stables in Redmond Washington is seeking dedicated and energetic volunteers to assist with daily barn chores. This is a highly physical role that directly supports the well-being of our rescue horses. No horse experience is necessary and we will train you to do the job.  


As a Barn Chore Volunteer, your responsibilities will include: 

Cleaning horse stalls and paddocks 

Scrubbing grain pans and sweeping barn aisles and shelter mats 

Feeding and watering the horses 

Other farm/barn maintenance 

Providing much-needed care and affection to the SAFE rescue horses 

Volunteer Requirements: 

Must be 16 years or older to volunteer independently 

Volunteers aged 8-15 are welcome with a parent/guardian volunteering alongside them 

A virtual orientation and training are required for all new volunteers and are offered regularly each month 

A minimum commitment of one shift per week for at least three months is preferred 

Available Shifts: 

Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM 

Evening Shift: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM 

Shifts are available seven days a week
