Volunteer: Donate a Meal for Women Experiencing Homelessness!The Sophia Way’s Mission To help end homelessness for women in King County by providing shelter, case management, life skills training, social services, and housing (transitional, supportive, and permanent). The Opportunity Every day, we serve three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) to nearly 100 women who come to our shelters. The meals are provided by our generous community and we are deeply appreciative of their support. Providing a meal requires no long-term commitment, training, or background check. All you have to do is sign up online for an available date, then cook (or buy) a meal and drop it off at our location. This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, groups, who love to cook! Volunteers support The Sophia Way’s mission by helping the staff provide a safe, clean, and inviting space for the women visiting the Day Center. The primary role of volunteers is to serve food and run the kitchen. Clean up food and dishes from breakfast Set up, serve and clean up lunch. Provide additional food or supplies from kitchen to Day Center Participants upon request. This may include light food prep – heating, cutting, etc., but no cooking or baking.
