Volunteer: Volunteer with Pike Market Food Bank

Pike Market Food Bank serves Seattle neighbors facing food insecurity. We are currently seeking committed volunteers to support our operations in both client-facing roles and warehouse support. Whether you enjoy working directly with people or behind the scenes, there are many ways to get involved.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Grocery Distribution Volunteers(Highest Need)
Support clients as they move through the grocery line by explaining options, helping them select items based on preference, and keeping the distribution line stocked.

Tuesdays: 10:50 am – 3:00 pm, Wednesdays: 2:50 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursdays: 11:50 am – 3:00 pm


Grocery Rescue Volunteers
Accompany our food bank driver to local grocery stores to collect donated food. Volunteers help transport items back to the food bank to weigh, record, and sort them.

Mondays: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Tuesdays: 8:45 am – 11:30 am, Wednesdays: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm


Home Delivery Volunteers(Background check required)
Work with another volunteer or staff member to pack 10–20 grocery bags and deliver them to Pike Place Market neighbors using your personal vehicle.

Fridays: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm


Bagel Run Volunteers (No Car/Driving needed)
Collect food donations from Pike Place Market businesses using a cart, then return items to the food bank to be weighed, recorded, and sorted.

Thursdays: 9:45 am – 11:15 am

Prep Volunteers
Assist with breaking down bulk donations, including slicing bread, repackaging eggs, and completing other packing and prep tasks.

Mondays & Tuesdays: 9:00 am – 11:00 am, Wednesdays: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm


No Cook Service Support(Highest Need)
Partner with No Cook check-in staff to pack client orders, restock supplies, and maintain food safety standards.

Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, Wednesdays: 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm


Client Intake & Check-In Volunteers(Background check required)
Support new and returning clients by checking them into our Salesforce system or assisting with intake forms. Ideal for volunteers with customer service or social service experience.

Tuesdays: 10:50 am – 3:00 pm, Wednesdays: 2:50 pm – 7:00 pm

Once we receive your interest, our Volunteer Coordinator will reach out with application and orientation details.
