Volunteer: MENTORING YOUTH IN KING COUNTY - A Powerful Force for ChangeONGOING Monday evenings Description We are looking for group mentor facilitators and group mentors for our virtual Monday evening sessions. Students in our Monday evening sessions are in 9th and 10th grade, attend school in King County, and are graduates of our middle school Mentoring Circles. Training is provided along with a curriculum from “A New Way Forward Manual”. Weekly planning sessions are held to help facilitators and mentors prepare for the upcoming session. The 4C recruits' youth and programming is delivered by trained mentors and professionals. We are calling interested volunteers, men and women, students from community colleges and local universities to apply. One person can make a huge difference.

MENTORING YOUTH IN KING COUNTY – A POWERFUL FORCE FOR CHANGE The 4C Coalition is a community-based nonprofit founded in 1999 that helps Black and other youth of color succeed in school and in life. We offer one-on-one mentoring, group mentoring and tutoring to youth who are ages 12- to 17-year-olds and reside in King County. 4C Mentor Program is recruiting committed and caring BIPOC mentors who will be matched with a youth . The 4C Mentor Program target population is specifically designed to reach the mentoring needs of at risk youth. We are recruiting volunteers who feel passionately about changing young lives for the better. 4C Coalition mentors receive an initial two-hour virtual orientation and training followed by ongoing planning sessions and support with 4C staff. Trained mentors make a one-year commitment to meet with their mentee once a week. Because of Covid, mentors meet in person twice a month and virtually twice a month. Volunteer Mentors age requirement 21-over . We are also accepting individuals who may be interested in assisting in the office, at community festivals and events – or would like to raise community awareness about our services, we would love to talk to you as well. We are inviting you to become a group mentoring facilitators and volunteer group mentors. there is also opportunity for one-on-one mentoring as well. You can make a difference in our community. We provide group mentoring in two Seattle Schools – Denny International Middle School in West Seattle as well as Meany Middle School, on Capitol Hill. Student scholars are in 6th and 7th grade. Group Mentoring is gender specific. We provide mentoring to 20 boys and 20 girls at each school site during school hours. Interested person’s must be fully vaccinated in following Seattle Public Schools, 4C and Seattle CARES COVID precautions. The 4C recruits' youth and programming called The Rising, Elevating Educatiin,Expectations and Self-Esteem, is delivered by Seattle CARES trained mentors and professionals.
