Donor Engagement – Board Committee Member Opportunity
Description: The Pike Place Market Foundation nurtures a thriving Market community so that everyone within it has the opportunity to live their best life possible.
Established in 1982 to uplift the charter of Pike Place Market, the Market Foundation has granted $31 Million to support low-income housing, culturally-appropriate health care, access to healthy food, high-quality preschool, an active community and to fund capital needs within the historic district. As community builders in the Market we partner with, as well as operate and sustain, a network of programs and services that support low-income residents, workers, families and neighbors of the Market.
PURPOSE: Ensure the fundraising needs of the Foundation are met by providing strategy and relationship management leadership for the entire Board to meet the Annual Fund goals.
TERM: One year, eligible for renomination thereafter.
MEETING ATTENDANCE:
Regularly: Monthly meeting (10) per year
Occasionally:
Program events as announced (as a board representative)
Training for Pike Place Market Foundation board membership
Annually: Tours and Visitation of social service agencies
Head of Committee: Christi Beckley, Fund Development Manager
Responsibilities:
- Set and track fundraising goals
- Manage major gift relationships including sponsorships
- Engage Board in fundraising action items and strategies
- Promote events and sell tickets
- Collaborate with MarCom on community campaign strategies and messaging
