The mission of The Light Collective is to create hope-oriented community where families who have a child with cancer can build resilience and share delight. The primary program we’re currently running is our Matchbox Day program—a monthly family fun day that includes:
- A box filled with games, activities, snacks, and crafts for a family to enjoy together
- Three opportunities to connect on Zoom (Crafts, Games, and Caregiver Support)
- A meal delivered via local services
The TLC Board of Directors works together to create and maintain the strategies and policies that allow us to achieve our mission and grow our vision. The Board also helps raise funds to support the operation of TLC and monitors the performance of TLC staff.
TLC launched in November 2020. As a new and growing organization, we seek Board Members from different professional backgrounds (law, finance, business, non-profit leadership), and/or candidates who have personal experience with pediatric cancer, and/or candidates whose perspectives and life experiences support the development of TLC toward becoming an anti-racist and anti-oppression organization.
