For 20 years, we’ve been putting on this event for the benefit of our neighborhood youth and families, and with the support of some amazing volunteers, local businesses, and community organizations. The Back2School Bash has historically been a day of celebration and gathering for neighborhood families, full of music, laughter, and giving.
Every year, we set a fundraising goal that will ensure we are able to effectively support the students and families we serve. This year, we are asking for our community’s help in raising $35,000 to cover the costs of the event, including the school supplies, food, entertainment, and more, so that our neighborhood youth are fully equipped and prepared for the upcoming school year.
This year’s Back2School Bash will take place on August 26th from 12-4pm at the Rainier Beach Plaza. The purpose of this event is the same as it was at the first Bash back in 2003: to affirm the greatness of each and every child, and to address the socioeconomic barriers they face when it comes to learning. As always, we will be providing students and families with backpacks, school supplies, food, and information about the important community resources that are available to them.
We invite you to join us in collecting backpacks and school supplies to donate to this event!
