Seattle Wind Symphony is excited to present our 9th Annual Star-Spangled Spectacular concert at Benaroya Hall on July 3. This annual (free) concert is a fun community celebration of Independence Day featuring music composed by American composers spanning many decades and genres - including John Philip Sousa, Katahj Copley, Carolyn Bremer, Duke Ellington, and more.
We are committed to offering this concert for FREE to the community, to encourage community members across the socio-economic spectrum to participate and enjoy this festive event. We will be making a donation appeal before intermission to encourage audience members to donate as they are able to help us continue this event (and support our regular season programming).
Volunteers for this event will circulate the lobby and concert hall during intermission to:
- Collect cash/check donations from patrons
- Hand out and collect e-mail list sign-up forms (“Count Me In” cards)
- Share the Text-To-Donate number and QR code with attendees who wish to donate online
- At the end of intermission, all funds and cards will be returned to the volunteer coordinator at the information table
Volunteers are encouraged to attend the concert and will only miss 1-2 of the pieces leading up to intermission (so that they can get in position for the intermission duties). Past volunteers have enjoyed engaging with audience members and sharing their appreciation of the musical performance in a positive atmosphere.
Thanks in advance for considering this volunteer opportunity!
