Time Commitment:
You can choose a weekly shift that works for you! There are a number of shift options to choose from including days, evenings and weekends. Volunteers commit to attending a weekly, 3-4 hour shift during tax season.
Volunteer shifts at Douglass-Truth Library are:

For example:
Shift begins on Jan. 9th @ 2:30 pm, duration: 4 hours.
This means your shift will be every Tuesday, from 2:30pm to 6:30pm.
Training Requirements:
No prior healthcare or public benefits experience is necessary!
Intake and Benefits Specialists are required to attend one day of in-person training*. United Way provides a comprehensive training on how to lead site intake, screen for benefits and eligibility. You'll learn from several organizations that specialize in public benefits and financial services outreach.
*Training will take place at United Way of King County office (720 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98104), on weekends December and January. Various training dates are offered. Training reminders will be sent via email a week prior your training date.
