More than 12% of students in King County live in poverty and nearly one in six students in our community experience hunger. Families living in poverty are often forced to make tough decisions between paying rent, keeping the lights on, and putting food on the table. United Way’s Fuel Your Future program aims to connect kids to nutritious food – during the school year and beyond.
Help us connect families to fresh produce, nutrition education, and community resources at Washington Elementary’s Family Market Night. Family Market Nights are joyful community events open to the entire school community, aimed at reducing hunger and increasing access to healthy food. As a Family Market Night volunteer, you’ll help create fun and welcoming environment by engaging kids in fun, hands-on activities and helping families shop at no cost for fresh fruit and vegetables
