Description

Techbridge Girls is recruiting passionate men and women to serve on its Pacific Northwest Advisory Council

Techbridge Girls is an award-winning nonprofit whose mission is to excite, educate, and equip girls from
low income communities to achieve economic mobility and better life chances through opportunities in
the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. Techbridge Girls envisions a world where
all girls lead, contribute and thrive in STEM.

Techbridge provides summer and after-school STEM programs for underserved girls and their families, as well as community building events that bring together Techbridge girls, families, and supporters.  The Pacific Northwest office is the first expansion site outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. The website is http://techbridgegirls.org/.

We are looking for passionate, connected individuals to play a critical role in the growth and development of Techbridge Girls in the Pacific Northwest. The PNW Advisory Council complements Techbridge Girls’ national Board of Directors, which maintains strategic and fiduciary responsibility.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the Techbridge Girls mission and who has a track record of professional and/or board leadership.  His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Advisory Council members, corporate champions, and major donors. Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in marketing, business development, corporate partnership development, youth development, fundraising, and/or STEM education policy.
  • Knowledge of current issues and trends in the local girls’ empowerment, afterschool program, education, and/or STEM communities.
  • Ability to assist in developing strategies to solicit contributions from foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
  • Capacity to identify and facilitate introductions to potential role models and field trip hosts.
  • Knowledge of and interest in equity issues affecting girls and women of color in STEM.
