Thank you for signing up to volunteer at Cathedrals. Compared to our normal shows, Cathedrals concerts are bigger, with a unique, open floor experience in the grand Saint Mark's Cathedral. More info here: http://www.fremontabbey.org/events/cathedrals/
Abbey Arts is an independent non-religious nonprofit founded in 2005. All are welcome.
The Roles:
You will be helping with one or more of the following:
- Setup- posting signs, setting up artist greenroom, setting up chairs, ushering people in
- Doors- welcoming, selling tickets, scanning tickets, answering questions, etc
- Bar- selling/taking drink tickets and concession items, pouring drinks
- Cleanup: resetting space, putting away chairs, etc
When you show up, look for the volunteer arrows to grab your name tag, sign in, grab a snack, and find a team member to check in with.
We like to keep all of our volunteers in pairs or groups for their experiences at the Abbey.
Please Bring:
Comfortable clothes & shoes (it is a big venue - lots of walking).
Coat/Jacket
Dark clothes if possible. Appropriate for an all ages venue
We provide simple snacks - but bringing some dinner food is advised since there isn't anywhere nearby to eat.
We Provide:
Simple snacks & beverages
Name badges of authority
Staff support to answer questions
Free concert (we do ask that all volunteers enjoy the show for at least 15 minutes during their shift) - most are able to catch a 30-90 minutes of the show
Free parking onsite at St. Mark's
We Ask:
-We know you all live busy lives- if you need to come a little later or leave a little earlier, do let us know as early as you can
-If you are uncomfortable or not physically able to perform a task, we encourage everyone to speak up- we are happy to reassign folks since there are always other tasks.
-Also, please speak up if your shift is over! With so many staff and so many wonderful volunteers, it's hard for everyone to remember when your shift may be over, and we want to respect your time.
