Volunteers are needed for the 24th Annual SummeRun & Walk for Ovarian Cancer on Sunday, July 16, 2017. Putting on a race of this size requires the help of over 150 volunteers. All proceeds benefit the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research and their mission to save lives and reduce suffering through improved treatment, early detection and prevention of ovarian cancer.
Please indicate your first and second choice of the following roles:
Event Setup (5:30-7:30 a.m.) - Assist with setup of tents, booths and tables.
Volunteer Check In (6:00-8:30 a.m.) - Check in volunteers and direct to their assigned areas. Close down and clean up area.
Shirt/Packet Pick Up (6:15-8:30 a.m.) - Locate t-shirts and packets and distribute to preregistered participants as directed by LEAD. Close down and clean up the registration area.
Information Assistant (6:30-10:30 a.m.) - Provide information to race participants such as the location of registration, start/finish line, donations table, water, restrooms, etc.
Bag Check (6:30-10:30 a.m.) - Organize and tag all bag check items.
Course Monitor (6:30-10:30 a.m.) - Assist with course set up and ensure safety of the participants. Direct runners/walkers and control minor intersections as needed or as directed by the Seattle Police Department. Cheer for and support all SummeRun participants! Requires standing for long periods of time. Maps and detailed course monitor instructions will be provided.
Water Station (6:45-10:30 a.m.) - Staff water stations on the race course. Fill cups, hand water to the runners, close down and clean up area. Cheer for and support all SummeRun participants!
Finish Line (7:45-10:30 a.m.) - Collect the timing chips from runners after they cross the finish line. Hand out water to participants. Close down and clean up the finish area.
You will receive a role confirmation within 2-3 business days.
