The Washington Wild Brewshed® Alliance is teaming up again with 5 South Seattle Brewshed Partners to host the 2017 South Seattle Poker N' Pints and we need volunteers!
If you are interested in this opportunity please respond to this opportunity.
We will also be hosting a volunteer training on January 28th, from 1 PM to 3 PM at Naked City Brewery in Greenwood which would be a very helpful for first time volunteers!
Here is how it works:
At each participating brewery you pick up two cards with an eligible purchase and at your final brewery your play the house to win swag! You can visit the breweries in any order, but each brewery will only give you two cards. You can start playing as early as the third brewery, but your chances will be better if you play at the 5th! Please drink responsibly and find alternative modes of transportation if you are planning on visiting all 5 partners.
This fun event originally designed by Lisa of Tin Dog Brewing will help keep Washington wild, green and full of great beer! So come out and play, have a great beer and all for a cause! For every pint bought throughout the day at their location each brewer will donate $1 to Washington Wild in honor of the Brewshed Alliance, because protected water makes superior downstream beer.
Participating Breweries*:
- Tin Dog Brewing
- Counterbalance Brewing Company
- Lowercase Brewing
- Machine House Brewery
- Flying Lion Brewing
We need volunteers to make this event possible. Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Man the Washington Wild Table at one of the five breweries participating from 4-7
- Help the bartenders with handing out swag bags and acting as the house by playing against participating players as necessary
- Talk to patrons and answer questions about the event, Washington Wild & The Brewshed Alliance. Know when to say "I don't know!"
- Keep staff informed (via phone) of any problems, questions, material shortages, etc. throughout the day
- Take on site donations
- Volunteers will receive detailed instructions prior to the date and will be invited to a special training.
About the Organization
Since 1979, Washington Wild has played an invaluable role in permanently protecting nearly three million acres of Wilderness throughout Washington State. We bring people together in the vigorous defense of our remaining wild forests, waters, and wildlife. By educating, empowering, and mobilizing our communities, Washington Wild builds powerful grassroots networks that help protect wild lands and waters throughout the state.
The Brewshed® Alliance is an outreach initiative designed to highlight the overlapping interests between the conservation and beer communities. As water flows through a landscape it picks up natural minerals that give it a distinct local flavor; however, it can also pick up pollutants that can be difficult to remove and/or damaging to the downstream beer. Protecting wild waters also protects superior downstream beer – that is what we call the Brewshed Connection.
We work with nearly 40 different Brewshed Partners throughout the state to co-host events helping raise both funds and awareness for Washington Wild's statewide conservation work.
