DESC is in need of volunteers to help with an interactive Health Fair for residents and clients. DESC strives to create a collaborative environment where our consumers can learn about how to keep themselves healthy, and offer tools and tips to maintain their health and safety. We invite you to help out at our Health Fair, located at DESC's Interbay Place on October 24, from 11am - 4pm. Volunteers will arrive at 10:30am to help set up, and stay until 4:30pm to help tear down the event. (We are open to volunteer shifts, if you are unable to be there the whole time. Inquire about shifts at volunteer@desc.org)
Duties include:
*Assist with setting up and/or tearing down of event booths
*Serve food (a vegetarian chili will be available at the Health Fair)
*Help "judge" a Halloween costume contest by sitting on a panel
*Assist clients at interactive Handwashing and Safe Food Storage stations
