Overview of Opportunity: Community meals have always been a critical component of FareStart’s mission. Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in early 2020, FareStart has vastly expanded our meal production- creating between 5,000-7,000 meals a day for local homeless shelters, non-profits, senior facilities, schools and more. Including letters in our meals helps bring additional joy to our recipients, many of whom are high risk and isolated in their facilities due to the pandemic. This MLK Day, join FareStart in ensuring that our food insecure neighbors receive thoughtful and happy notes in their meals.
Instructions: This opportunity is done remotely and volunteers will provide their own materials (receipts can be included as a donation to FareStart). Volunteers will write and decorate notes that will be incorporated into FareStart meals. Once volunteers sign up, they will be emailed an instructions sheet and images of example letters. Volunteers can mail letters to FareStart or schedule a time for letters to be dropped off at our offices.
