At the end of the harvest season there are various unharvested crops in abundance lying in the fields of the Snohomish River Valley. Last year we had to let 75,000 pounds rot in the flood. The SuperGlean is an event to get whatever we can, into the food banks. We may be harvesting carrots, squash, pie pumpkins, sweet corn, beets or whatever else is there. Harvest volunteers pick into crates and bins in the fields. This is a rain or shine event, with rain and mud the norm. But what a satisfying feeling to send a semi full of fresh nutritious produce to the food bank!
