Join the Green Kirkland Partnership as we work to restore the forest of South Rose Hill Park. Volunteers will spend the time doing a mix of restoration activities which will include planting native trees, shrubs and groundcovers, spreading mulch and removing aggressive invasive species like ivy and blackberry. No experience is necessary and we encourage volunteers of all ages to join us!
Suggested Dress: Remember to dress for the weather (don’t forget raingear!). Wear boots or comfortable athletic shoes, work clothes (long pants), and layers that you don’t mind getting dirty.
What to bring to volunteer: Bring a filled water bottle and snacks to munch on during the event. Tools, gloves and training will be provided at the site.
Directions: The address for the park is 12730 NE 72nd St. Kirkland WA 98033. This park is served by the 245 bus with a stop on NE 70th Street near its intersection with 128th Ave NE.
Meet at in the southwestern portion of the park near the restrooms and playground.
Parking: These is a very small parking lot on the northwestern side of the park. Once this is full, street parking is available near the park
Youth Volunteers: Volunteers 14-17 may volunteer without their parents if they bring a youth waiver signed by a parent or guardian. All volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Find the Youth Waiver here.
