Join your neighbors and fellow park lovers in removing invasive plants and caring for native trees and shrubs at Green Kirkland's newest park to enroll in restoration: Juanita Open Space 4. This small natural area is a hidden gem with mature conifers. Enjoy the cool shade and rain stopping canopy while helping to restore the next generation of forest.
No experience is necessary and we encourage volunteers of all ages to join us!
What to Bring:
* Closed Toed Shoes Required (ex: tennis shoes, sneakers or boots but no sandals)
* Clothes that can get dirty
* Rain gear, Warm Layers, Sunscreen/Hat
* Long Pants/Long Sleeves
* Full water bottle & Snacks
* No bathroom or running water onsite (10 minute walk/drive)
Where to Park & Meet:
This park is nestled in a neighborhood at the curve of NE 144th St & 107th Ave NE and can be hard to find.
The nearest address is: 14401 107th Ave NE Kirkland, Washington
Look for the Green Kirkland Partnership signs at the bend in the road and volunteers will meet there. Street parking is available near the park.
Youth Volunteering :
Volunteers age 14-17 attending the event without a parent or guardian must bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to the event with them. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
