Description

Help us plant a bare hillside at Othello Park, and learn about Native Plants in the process. This area is currently woodchips on a slight slope, but it needs more planting to make it attractive and enjoyable for park users. Othello Park has undergone a transformation in the last ten years from a place people avoided due to gang activity, to a gathering spot for picnics, sports and festivals. Lets encourage more of this community activity at the park by enhancing the planting. The Othello Park Alliance was awarded a grant from the Neighborhood Matching Fund for this project.

Location: Othello Park, Seattle
Date: Saturday October 29th
Time: 11a- 4p

Lunch, snacks and water will be provided for all volunteers. Tools and gloves will also be provided. Please dress appropriately, as we will be planting rain or shine!
