Info Desk Greeters help us set-up then welcome and direct vendors, presenters, volunteers, community tables, and participants to workshops & the job fair.
Volunteers will:
- Help set-up and post directional signage for the participants attending various activities in Garfield's main building - and clean-up following the events.
- Some volunteers will join the workshop monitors for a brief orientation and tour of the building.
- Welcome people to the building and help volunteers, job fair exhibitors and attendees, workshop presenters and attendees, and community tabling organizations find their way.
- Help anyone with special needs (such as guide people with visual impairment, or that need the elevator).
- Guide participants from classrooms and job fair to the rally area (gym) following workshop and fair completion.
- Help workshop monitors (assigned to each classroom) or other volunteers with any specific questions or needs.
Once your volunteer shift is done, you are welcome to volunteer in another way, join the rally in the gym and march to downtown. Please join our virtual youth event (1/15, 2-4pm) and virtual workshops the week before. Info on activities is updated regularly at www.seattlemlkcoalition.org #MLKSeattle
Following CDC guidance, vaccination and testing policies are not required but highly encouraged for volunteers joining us on MLK Day. To ensure the safety of everyone at our events, we still encourage healthy practices such as staying home when sick, washing hands regularly, and listening to healthcare experts as new information becomes available.
