Treehouse’s Holiday Magic program ensures that all youth in foster care in the state of Washington receive at least one significant present during the holiday season. Holiday Magic serves over 5,000 youth per year. The projects for the day will include:
- Counting and inspecting Holiday Magic gifts for our pre-season inventory audit.
- Repackaging items that arrived to us with damaged boxes.
- Wrapping gifts in kraft paper to protect boxes and conceal contents in order to minimize theft upon delivery.
Registration Information: Every volunteer needs to register online by Thursday at 2pm. Click this link to register: http://treehouse.kintera.org/elfworkshop. All volunteers must complete the registration even if they have volunteered here previously. Please note that we check IDs upon arrival. Anyone who has not registered in advance may not be able to volunteer.
Location: 2100 24th Ave S, Seattle 98144
Parking Options:
- Street parking—there is some two-hour parking, but there’s also a lot of unrestricted street parking around our office.
- Any unmarked open spots in the alley behind our building or street level garage
- Parking lot enclosed by chain link fencing on the far side of 24th Ave from our building (please note: you must enter from S Hill St…the portion accessible from the Nguyen Pharmacy parking lot belongs to them)
Seattle Pro-Tip: Do NOT leave valuables in vehicles. We have lockers for volunteers to store their personal belongings.
Entering the Building:
If entering through the main lobby (doors on 24th Ave), you can head directly into the Wearhouse, which is straight ahead. If parking at the back of the building, please ring the doorbell on the loading dock in the SE corner of the building. When you ring the bell a Treehouse staff member will let you in and get you where you need to go. We will have a group from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation helping in the back of the Wearhouse, and we’ll have your team’s project set-up in the store (which is closed on Fridays).
