Creative Writer
Purpose: Many of our outreach programs connect to their members, leaders and followers through social media or monthly newsletters and blog posts. Crafting these posts is an invaluable way update our community about our activities. You don't have to be a professional writer. We are looking for individuals who have a creative voice and enjoy communicating with community audiences.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Create posts that highlight our role in various activities and outreach events, including Citizenship Days
- Create posts that highlight stories from our members and leaders whose work furthers our mission
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Complete a volunteer application
- Interest in immigrant communities and sincere desire to support others in achieving their goals
- Ability to construct a clear message through writings and occasional photographs or other images
- Prior knowledge of technology (internet, email, word, etc.,) and digital literacy
Time Commitment: Once or twice per month
Upcoming opportunities:
- Promote stories from our next Citizenship Day Clinic to capture stories of individuals working towards citizenship.
- Promote stories from Field organizing from late May through early November in preparation for the local and state elections for 2017 in the King County, Mt Vernon, Yakima, Vancouver and other areas.

Graphic Designer
Purpose: Graphic design is a great way to express OneAmerica’s events and activities. Graphic design volunteers help showcase political policies about immigration, environmental justice, education, and more through memes and different graphics. We are looking for volunteers who have a basic knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe and other software programs to create visual and written displays highlighting the work of OneAmerica.
Volunteer Responsibilities: As graphic designers, responsibilities may include analyzing current Presidential events, City Council events, and other political or social events that impact our communities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Complete a volunteer application
- Interest in immigrant communities and sincere desire to support others in achieving their goals
- Ability to construct a clear message through writings and occasional photographs or other images
- Prior knowledge of technology (internet, email, word, etc.,) and digital literacy
Time Commitment: varied; Monday through Friday from 9 – 5 based around your schedule.
