World Relief 2021 MLK Day of Service MORNING SHIFT
Join World Relief Seattle for the Martin Luther King Day of Service and help with the upkeep of the Paradise Parking Plots Community Garden. Our programs serve refugees and immigrants in South King County and seek to enhance the community’s food security and sovereignty, advocate for environmental health, and improve the quality of the local watershed.
Please choose from either a morning or afternoon three-hour volunteer shift (found in separate ads on the United Way King County volunteer website).
Time:
January 18th, 2021
Morning shift: 9 am – 12 pm
Location:
Paradise Parking Plots Community Gardens
930 E James St
Kent, WA 98031
Activities:
Volunteers will help to maintain and enhance the site by clearing brush and setting footpaths.
COVID-19 Considerations:
Attendance will be limited to households and social-pods of five or fewer individuals.
To manage risks associated with COVID-19, please pre-register for either a morning or afternoon shift, wear a mask, maintain physical-distancing, and work within your household or social-pod.
This event is subject to cancellation based on local COVID-19 restrictions.
Other Details:
Youth under the age of 15 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
This event will happen rain or shine so please dress appropriately with closed toed shoes/boots, layers for the weather, and bring water/a warm drink.
Washed gardening gloves will be provided – however, please bring your own if possible.
