The annual Big Day of Play is a celebration of our City’s diversity and it encourages neighbors, communities and families to have fun, build relationships and be active together. This year's event takes place on Saturday, August 18th from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Rainier Community Center and Playfields and is presented by Seattle Parks and Recreation's Get Moving Initiative with support from Kaiser Permanente.
The Big Day of Play cannot happen without the support of volunteers!
Make new friends and bond with your community while helping make the Big Day of Play a success. You’ll receive free snacks, event "swag" and a free swim at Seattle Parks and Recreation’s pools for your time and support. Check out the opportunities listed here for details about how you can be a part of an event that attracts thousands of families from all over the City.
Volunteers in the Cleanup Crew will be:
Breaking down the event, putting away supplies and resetting the Playfield to its original state. Volunteers in this role will be working outdoors in the sun and will be lifting materials up to 25 lbs. Because of the crucial nature of this role we are offering free swim passes to any Parks and Recreation-run swimming pool to all volunteers who stick around to help with cleanup.
Volunteers in this role must be 14+ years old.
