At this time, we have a particular need for candidates with financial leadership experience who may be interested in serving as Treasurer and supporting our Finance Committee.

Help feed the women who call Jubilee Women's Center home! In this moment when the cost of food keeps rising and SNAP benefits are shrinking, Monday Melas have become one way we meet the women who call Jubilee home exactly where they are. Many of our residents are balancing full course loads, multiple jobs, and long commutes. They are doing everything they can to build stability, yet the hours between classes and shifts do not leave much space for grocery trips or waiting in food bank lines. Having a fresh, ready meal to come home to at the start of the week helps ease that load. Leftovers can stretch into lunches or quick dinners later in the week, offering both nourishment and a sense of calm in the middle of so much uncertainty.

If you enjoy cooking and want to share your skills, sign up to prepare and drop off a community meal. Your support helps ease the daily load for the women who are working hard everyday to rebuild stability in their lives.

This summer, Jubilee Women's Center will be out in the community and tabling to share our work, connect people to our resources, and welcome new supporters of our mission. Join Neighborhood House in celebrating Juneteenth through community, culture, and service. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help support this special event honoring freedom, resilience, and Black history. Volunteers will assist with event setup, guest welcome, activity support, food service, children’s activities, and cleanup throughout the celebration.

This is a great opportunity to connect with the community, support an important cultural event, and make a meaningful impact alongside fellow volunteers. Whether you can help for a few hours or the entire event, your time and energy are greatly appreciated.

Gallagher Hill Open Space Work Party!

Gallagher Hill Open Space is a beautiful park with old trees, a thriving stream, and plenty of native plant and animal life. A lot of the park is unfortunately being overgrown with blackberry and ivy, threatening the health of this vital ecosystem. Situated above the freeway Gallagher Hill is an important respite of nature that is well worth protecting. Come join us for a park clean-up where we will be removing ivy and blackberry. It will be a great chance to get your hands in the dirt, learn about native plants and our local forests, and work alongside neighbors and friends!

No experience necessary and all ages welcome; gloves and tools are provided. Please note: we require participants aged 14 and under to volunteer with a parent or guardian at a ratio of 1 adult to 3 kids.

Family Resource Fair Volunteers play an important role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and engaging experience for families attending this special event. Pack the Bus brings community together to ensure students and families have the essentials they need for a strong, supported summer.

Volunteer teams will assemble thoughtfully curated kits; including food, hygiene, and summer enrichment supplies that will be distributed through trusted community partners across the region. Every kit represents care, dignity, and collective investment in our neighbors.

This is a hands-on opportunity for teams to show up in a tangible way and be part of something bigger than a single day of service.

Make a difference in our housing community by delivering fresh groceries to our community food pantry! This volunteer position has a direct impact on our resident's access to fresh groceries by picking up food donations in Kenmore and delivering them to our housing in the Central District. This position is well-suited for friends or partners who would like to volunteer together to make a difference in the greater Seattle area.

By volunteering with PHC you will be directly involved in building community and connections among residents. Many of our residents are negatively impacted by chronic mental health conditions, trauma, and homelessness. If you are passionate about access to food, mental health, community, and housing, this volunteer opportunity is for you!

Individuals in this position will be lifting boxes up to 40lbs, walking short distances while carrying 40lbs, driving their personal vehicle, and cleaning out the community pantry.

Commitment: One shift a month on Friday evenings for 2-4 hours per shift. Friday shifts are flexible, and Mileage reimbursement is available.

Qualifications: Good communication and people skills, reliable, good cheer, and a commitment to the well-being of homebound elders. This is an on-going volunteer commitment.

Requirements: Complete an application, consent to a background check, be able to lift 15lbs and navigate stairs, be at least 18 years of age, and have a Washington state driver’s license and auto insurance.

The Disaster Action Team (DAT) Coordinator will assist in leading chapter activities by providing administrative support to the DAT program. Also, works with other chapter leadership to define and articulate the overall strategy for the Disaster Action Team program.

What is the Disaster Action Team? Disaster Action Team volunteers help local families cope with emergencies. Home fires and other disasters can occur any time, any place. As a Disaster Action Team volunteer, you’ll provide emotional support, financial assistance, and information to help families begin the process of recovery.

Responsibilities as a Disaster Action Team Coordinator include:

Support Red Cross Life Saving Mission - Serve as a Blood Donor Ambassador!

Welcome and greet blood donors during a Red Cross Blood drive by providing exceptional customer services and ensuring a rewarding/positive  experience, so donors return next time. 

Enhance your customer service skills and gain experience working directly in healthcare setting. Staff reception area, support donor check-in process with their appointment time, ask donors to read required medical material, and make telephone calls for reminders and additional follow up. 

Support hospitality experience by offering refreshments and giving immediate attention to anyone feeling unwell. Invite donors to to return by providing educational information about the positive impact and lifesaving service of blood donations. 

Schedule minimum of one 6 hour shift per month

This virtual role provides follow-up and recovery planning services for individuals and households following home fires or disasters, including referrals. Caseworkers make initial contact with the client within 48 hours of the disaster. Work with clients to get connected with resources. All training is provided.

Duty Officer (disaster hotline volunteer)- The Duty officer is the first line of contact for First Responders. Police/Fire/Ambulance calls the Red Cross disaster hotline and the Duty Officer is the one that receives the call, takes down all the pertinent information, and then calls the DAT team and relays the information (Example: Home fire at __ location, 4 Adults, 2 kids, a dog and a cat all need services). Then the DAT team responds in person to the event and provides immediate assistance. Calls are relayed from the hotline to your personal cell phone.

Duty Officers coordinate with our Disaster Action Team members to initialize a disaster or emergency response. When a fire, flood, or other disaster occurs, our central Hotline phone will forward to your personal cell phone. You then contact our team members to dispatch them to respond to various situations.

When a large-scale disaster impacts a community, multiple agencies and resources are needed to walk alongside them to provide response and recovery support. As a Community Engagement & Partnerships (CEP) Service Associate you’ll connect with local partners to build capacity, coordinate activities, integrate expertise, and ensure that all disaster-affected communities, including traditionally underserved populations, have access to Red Cross services.

Your volunteer role involves implementing the CEP plan, engaging with organizations, and supporting multi-agency collaborative efforts to promote regional engagement and inclusive partnerships.

Washington Business Week (WBW) teaches students professional, leadership, and finance skills over the course of week-long intensive educational programs where students are put in real world situations and given the opportunity to perform. Over the week, students meet professionals from all industries and hear their stories. Our networking evening is one of the best ways for students to connect with people from careers they might want to work, while also learning how to network in professional settings. In this two-hour after work mock networking event, we'll serve you and the students mocktails (or at least lemonade) as you chat with students in a casual setting. In the first hour you'll network with students and the second hour is for professional networking with the other volunteers.

The Shelter Resident Transition Service Associate assists shelter residents and disaster victims create long term personal plans to overcome obstacles and transition into a stable housing solution. They play an important role in minimizing disaster caused displacement and aid in long term recovery.

When disasters strike, it takes coordinated efforts of government agencies working alongside nonprofit organizations to quickly respond and help chart the path forward. Volunteers serving as Government Operations Service Associates serve as direct contact with government partners, often in an Emergency Operations Center or other coordination center, during a Disaster Relief Operation to ensure that Red Cross actions are aligned with the government.

A joint project with the Garden Hotline and Seed2Fork Farm

Join us each month to plant, water and weed in the new raised bed demonstration garden at the Renton Agroforestry Cultural Farm located at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Our focus will be on growing culturally relevant foods and produce grown in the garden is intended for donation at the monthly Giving Table on site on the first Saturday of each month and for church members and volunteer participants. Become a Seattle Tree Steward! Join Trees for Neighborhoods and Dirt Corps for our next tree care skill share and volunteer work party at the special wetland ecosystem of Meadowbrook Pond! We will learn how to mulch trees to protect them during the summer by increasing water retention and cooling down the soil around the tree roots. We will also be highlighting some of the amazing native pollinators that ensure our trees bear fruit and have seeds for the summer! Creating pollinator habitat, especially for ground-nesting bees is crucial for happy and healthy trees!

All ages and skill levels are welcome! Please wear clothing that can get dirty, including long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes. We’ll be working rain or shine, so everyone is encouraged to dress for the weather and wear layers if you can. We’ll provide the tools, gloves, snacks, hot drinks, and water.

Join Trees for Neighborhoods and Dirt Corps for our next tree care skill share and volunteer work party at the special wetland ecosystem of Webster Pond! We will learn how to mulch trees to protect them during the summer by increasing water retention and cooling down the soil around the tree roots. We will also be highlighting some of the amazing native pollinators that ensure our trees bear fruit and have seeds for the summer! Creating pollinator habitat, especially for ground-nesting bees is crucial for happy and healthy trees!

All ages and skill levels are welcome! Please wear clothing that can get dirty, including long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes. We’ll be working rain or shine, so everyone is encouraged to dress for the weather and wear layers if you can. We’ll provide the tools, gloves, snacks, hot drinks, and water.

There’s plenty of work in the garden, too. Tasks may include clearing beds, preparing soil, organizing tools and supplies, and getting planting spaces ready for spring crops. This hands-on project directly supports local food production and helps ensure the farm is ready for a successful season of growth.

As a VITA Volunteer with the Washington West African Center, you will assist community members—especially immigrants, low‑income households, and English‑language learners—in filing accurate tax returns and accessing eligible credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC).

Volunteers may serve as tax preparers, intake specialists, interpreters, or quality reviewers depending on interest and training. No prior tax experience is required—free IRS‑certified training is provided.

This role is ideal for anyone passionate about financial empowerment, community service, or gaining hands‑on experience in tax preparation, client services, or nonprofit work.

Time Commitment

Help us kick off the growing season in March and April, or support us during the highest need months of July through September. We’ve already set aside most Tuesdays from 9am to 2pm during the growing season for large-group work parties, preferably with 20 or more volunteers. We encourage you to sign up for a full shift, but we ask for a minimum of three hours. Teams can consist of coworkers, community or church group members, or neighbors. All are welcome!

For the past four years, the Washington West African Center has proudly organized the Sounds of Africa Festival, a cultural celebration that showcases African music, fashion, food, and traditions while bringing together communities across Snohomish County.

The 2026 edition of the festival (Sounds of Africa 4.0) will take place on August 15, 2026, at Garfield Park.

Launch is thrilled to be bringing back our Family Carnival “Fun”draiser for the 3 year in a row! Our carnival has quickly become a beloved community tradition - guests enjoy game booths, face painting, crafts, food, face painting, and connection. The Carnival is our biggest, most important fundraiser of the year designed to celebrate the heart and soul of Launch - our students! Through community connection, we aim to highlight the importance of equitable, accessible childcare and educational justice as essential pillars of a healthy, thriving society. This year's carnival will be held at the Rainier Community Center, from 12PM -3PM on May 30th, 2026. You can see more information about our past Carnival events on our website!

Volunteers would be looking at a minimum of a two-hour shift commitment, between the hours of 10AM to 5PM, with the event taking place from 12PM-3PM. We are enthusiastic about supporting our volunteers's interests and skills, so any specific expertise you may bring will be greatly appreciated! With this, we will also be looking to fill a couple "roles" during the event to help with operations. Volunteers can sign up for a specific role or can work in multiple roles during the event if they choose. A brief VIRTUAL volunteer orientation will be held the week before the event to go over any specific details for roles, and to foster open discussion about volunteer operations. Below are some brief descriptions of some of these "roles": 

Floater (Inside/Outside): General volunteer who will fill in where needed (particularly at the Site Game Booths on the Field)

Cake Walk (Inside): Help run the Cake Walk – a game where guests can participate with a suggested donation of $5. Guests stand on 1 of 12 numbers in a circle, music plays, when the music stops the Cake Walk coordinator will draw a number and the winner will be able to select any cake from the table of treats! We will have 2 rounds of the Cake Walk (from 12:30pm – 1pm and 2:30pm – 3pm). One volunteer will take tickets, one will help with music, and one will help with cakes.

Facepainting (Outside): Guests can have their faces painted (suggested donation: $5). We will provide face paint, glitter, stencils, and water tattooes.

Welcome/Ticketing (Inside): Welcome guests and distribute pre-paid, pre-sorted Admission wristbands. Volunteer will also have a Clover device to sell game tickets, admission tickets, and tickets for Cake Walk, Facepainting, and Soak the Teacher.

Volunteer Check In (Inside): Check volunteers in and give them their Volunteer badges, wristbands, and assignments.

Snack Booth (Outside): Volunteer will sell treats and snacks to guests and will operate a Clover device for payment.

Food Server (Inside): Help caterer set up the food service beginning at 12:30ish. Serve lunch (cafeteria style) from 1-2pm to guests.

We need your help to keep great books accessible to communities 24/7. Visit Little Free Libraries in your community to distribute books! 

We can suggest where to look for free or inexpensive books, or if you already have some, you can share those too. You can find book-sharing boxes near you using our world map or free mobile app. Volunteers over 18 anywhere in the U.S. where there are Little Free Libraries can register for this opportunity. 

Register on our volunteer website, volunteer.littlefreelibrary.org,  to get started. If it's your first time signing up with Team LFL, you will be prompted to create an account in our volunteer hub. Once you sign up, you will get access to tips & resources that you review independently online. Our Little Free Library staff can answer your questions by email. You can share books whenever it works for you.

As a part of our mission to build community and increase book access, we’ve begun connecting stewards with their local booksellers through the LFL-Friendly Bookseller’s Directory. A crucial piece of this project is to reach out and ask booksellers to offer benefits to stewards, such as discounts, book donations, or event space discounts for meetups. We need your help to share information with booksellers about how they can support their local LFL stewards!

How to get started: Sign up on the Little Free Library volunteer website. If it's your first time volunteering with Team LFL, you will be asked to create an account in our volunteer hub. After you register, you will be instructed to compile a list of local booksellers you’d like to visit and submit it to us. After we receive your list, we will send you a packet of materials to distribute while you’re visiting the booksellers . 

Purpose: By helping connect Little Free Library stewards to local booksellers, you are helping to build community, inspire readers, and expand book access. 

Responsibilities:

Visit local booksellers (5 minimum, but can visit as many as you'd like) to drop off information packet on the bookseller’s directory

Be polite and courteous when visiting the bookseller - wait in line to speak to a staff member, don’t be pushy, encourage them to review the information and contact LFL with any questions.

Create a list of local booksellers that you plan to visit. 

Check the existing map to see which booksellers are already listed - you don’t need to go to any that are already listed!

Use booksellers’ associations (MIBA, CALIBA, etc.) to find booksellers near you (if you don’t already know them!)

Visit bookstores, use the provided Excel template to record who you’ve visited, and submit sheet to us via Givepulse.

As an incentive for completing this volunteer opportunity, you will be entered in a giveaway to receive a $50 gift card to the local bookseller of your choice.

Rally Club Seattle is recruiting mentors for its “lunch bunch” group mentor community. Programming takes place onsite at Greenlake Elementary School in  NE Seattle (2400 N 65th St,  Seattle, WA 98103)  weekly on Mondays from 12-1pm.

Rally Club focuses on community and making meaningful connections. Connectedness not only has a powerful protective effect on mental health, but also improves other youth outcomes such as academic competence, concern for others, and confidence. Caring mentors like you create a welcoming, fun, and inclusive community that youth want to be a part of. Time is spent in larger group activities as well as in small groups and in giving individualized attention. Activities are tailored to youth need and interest.
