Volunteer: Help Community Projects Get Funded: Volunteer Opportunity

This Volunteer Month, you have the power to make an impact! United Way of King County is inviting volunteers to help select which nonprofit organizations will receive funding to host a volunteer opportunity in April. No prior grant experience is needed, we’ll guide you through the process!

Note that this is a multiple day volunteering opportunity and participants will need to commit to the following schedule:

-Session 1: March 16th @6 PM

Join us virtually to explore grant-making from the inside out with a community services expert.  A meeting invitation will be sent to all registrants prior to the session.

-March 16th-20th, review grants and submit your responses to United Way team.

-Session 2 March 21st @10:30 AM
Join us in person at El Centro De La Raza to review applications and help decide which projects receive funding.

This is a great way to see behind the scenes of grantmaking and ensure that community-led volunteer opportunities receive the support they need. By signing up for this project you are committing to participating in both sessions and reviewing grant applications between the first and second meeting.

Volunteer: Seed2Fork Garden Party: Volunteer Opportunity

Join us at Seed2Fork Farm as we prepare for the upcoming growing season! Volunteers will help set up the farm’s aquaponic system, laying the groundwork for a sustainable, soil-free growing process that integrates fish and plant production.

There’s plenty of work in the garden, too. Tasks may include clearing beds, preparing soil, organizing tools and supplies, and getting planting spaces ready for spring crops. This hands-on project directly supports local food production and helps ensure the farm is ready for a successful season of growth.

Sign up to our Emerging Leaders 365 newsletter  for more ways to start your year of impact!

Please note that these volunteer projects help serve the needs of our community  organizations, and the volunteer capacity is set to serve that. If you need to cancel your commitment to a project, please cancel at least 48 hours in advance.
